Who we are
At Adaptive Expeditions, we empower people to adventure. Whether you were born with a disability, are navigating life after an injury, or are struggling with your mental health, we create real opportunities to experience the thrill of adventure travel — at enticing locations across the globe that are accessible, inclusive and empowering.
Ever dreamt of kayaking the majestic Norwegian fjords, handcycling Iceland's rugged coastline, or crossing the Sahara by quadbike? We focus on what you can do — not what you can't. And you don't have to do it alone: bring your family, bring your partner, or come solo and leave with a community.
Our approach
With over 40 years of combined experience leading outdoor adventures, we work closely with every individual to understand their goals — so you get maximum independence at every stage of your journey.
01
Every adventure is shaped around you — your abilities, your equipment, your ambitions. No two expeditions are the same.
02
Wild places don't always go to plan. Our experienced team finds a way through, safely and with a laugh along the way.
03
Boundaries shattered, perceptions challenged — those brilliant moments where you realise you're capable of more than you thought.

Accessible for all
Adventure is better shared. Some of our proudest moments have come from family groups and couples discovering that adventure is still very much on the table — for all of them, together.
Our family weekends have been a huge success — accessible camping, beach days and time on the water where everyone joins in, whatever their age or ability.
Adventure together, side by side. Whether one of you or both of you have additional needs, we shape the trip so you share every moment of it.
Come on your own and you won't stay a stranger for long. Our trips are built around belonging — arrive solo, leave part of a community.
What adventurers say
Phenomenal trip with epic experiences. I went on the Norway trip and the locations chosen were amazing. Nick, Darren & team were supportive no matter what your disability is. I couldn't recommend more highly.Jen Warren
Not long back from my first weekend with AE — it certainly won't be my last! Nick and Darren are absolute legends and it's safe to say we all came away from the weekend feeling empowered!Capturing Memories
Absolutely fantastic weekend! The team were so thoughtful. We had a video call a few weeks before to talk about access needs, which very much put my mind at ease. They have the attitude of "we'll make it work and give you a great time".Lizzie
What a brilliant adventure. The team go above and beyond to cater for everyone in the group, and it didn't feel like an overly-structured group activity — more like a bunch of mates on the river kayaking and camping!Jordan Magill
I cannot rate my experience or the team at Adaptive Expeditions highly enough! They go above and beyond to make sure everyone's varying needs are met, all while maintaining a relaxed, independent and above all fun environment.Niamh O'Reilly
The passion and enthusiasm the team at AE have for what they do is totally infectious. The ability to bring the wild into the grasp of those for whom it has previously been out of reach sits at the core of everything they do.Roo Terry
Absolutely incredible experience cycling the Danube with the team. I had such a good time I have signed up to do a kayaking expedition with them for a week in Norway, and look forward to many more.Jack Kavanagh
This is such an incredible movement — empowering individuals with disabilities to adventure beyond limits. I love being part of this movement!Chris Rhodes
